i can't believe this is the third year

for her christmas portraits. i love this time of year. i love meeting up with this amazing young lady. she is one of my favorites! we managed to avoid the rain today too, it started just as we were leaving the orchard. we shot at the lovely Sea Cider Farmhouse and Ciderhouse on the Saanich Peninsula. if you haven't tried their amazing cider, you should!

here are a few quick glimpses into our morning. i seriously would love to harvest just a tiny bit of this girls spirit. she makes me smile just thinking of her.

These are some of my favorites of yours! Just absolutely beautiful!! I'm a new photographer and I love looking at your blog!!
That black and white conversion is MONEY! (Could you give some tips on how you do it? Do you use an action? Whats your trick for such a beautiful BW?!) Thanks ;)

Hey Michelle - it's Aunty Lesley back to tell you what an amazing job you've done capturing our girl once again! The shots are all so 'her' especially the crack up one! Looks like it'll be tough choices for Christmas presents again this year. Thanks for sharing your talent with us!

thanks for all the lovely comments. Aunty Lesley, i was waiting for your comments. i love hearing from you at this time of year. i think soon we need a Syd + Aunty Lesley shot! I am just processing the rest of the images from this session right now and they are all as sweet as these posted. Meagan, you asked about my black and white conversion. I used Red Leaf Vintage BW action on this one. you can find it on their site by going to their boutique.

Hi Michelle,
Just got to see the rest of this shoot and I'm blown away! There are so many sides to our precious Syd and you've got them all from the diva to the goofball. Absolutely awesome work. As for me in the mix - I'd have to say I'm the photogenic polar opposite to Sydney and you'd be hard pressed to get a good one! Something to think about though....... Thanks so much for capturing her spirit and creating the Christmas present I look forward to the most! All good things to you, your family and the new business.
